I smiled as I stared at the monitor of my computer, but it had nothing to do with the emails I was putting off responding to and everything with the woman in the office at the far end of the garage.

To say that the weekend was fucking amazing would have been a serious understatement. It was like every fantasy and daydream I’d had about Nori—and there were a lot—had started to come true as new ones came to life. The only thing that had left me feeling slightly uneasy was that when she asked me to take her home last night, I knew I didn’t like the idea of her leaving my side.

But I had no choice, unless I wanted to kidnap her.

And trust me, I’d mulled it over more than a couple of times. But at the end of day, I knew what I had to do. I needed to talk to Angelo and inform him about my intentions with his sister. It was probably a day late and dollar short because I had probably fucked a baby into her. Not that we had talked about that. But I’d done what I could with the time I had been given to put my baby in her. I wanted that. I wanted that more than I could have ever imagined wanting something.

Creating a family with the woman of my dreams felt like the ultimate dream.

Around eight in the evening, she’d asked me to drive her home, and I hadn’t been quick enough on an excuse to keep her overnight again. The drive from my place to hers took less than twenty minutes, but by the time I was walking her to her front door, I knew she had built walls around her. She’d avoided looking me in the eye, and when she thanked me for the good time, I’d scowled. If she thought we could possibly be a one and done, she was seriously mistaken.

Hell no.

Now that I knew what she tasted like, sounded like, felt like, there was no way I could give her up. Fuck, who was I kidding? That small kiss under the mistletoe had sealed our fate. Now she was avoiding me, hardly looking in my direction as she walked around

I shook my head and looked at the slip of paper with her name that Angelo had given me for our office gift exchange. Her name neatly printed, along with a list of ideas of things she’d like. All of which I had already known. Cookies from Heart Baker, a bakery in Kismet Cove, and a list of places she liked to shop at.

One in particular caught my eyes, and I found myself learning something about my girl I hadn’t known. On the top three places she loved to shop, she had included our town’s lingerie shop, Silks. Though if I thought back to the little sheer number she’d been wearing on Friday night, I shouldn’t have been surprised my beautiful Nori liked to treat herself to beautiful underthings.
